Zone III offers a quieter, more intimate safari experience within Yala’s wilderness. While the road network hasn’t yet extended deep into the jungle, this very seclusion helps preserve its raw, untamed character and rich biodiversity.
A 2-hour safari here can still be incredibly rewarding, with opportunities to spot elephants, sloth bears, and a variety of birdlife all without the crowds. It’s one of the least congested zones in the park, ideal for nature lovers seeking a peaceful escape.
There’s also a chance to spot leopards, though sightings are less frequent compared to other zones. Leopards in this area are more elusive, unaccustomed to vehicles and human presence, often vanishing quickly before offering a clear view.
